Mary (Marrigje) Van Heuvelen (nee Verbeek) passed away on March 16, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in her 98th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Hendrik Van Heuvelen. Mary was the dear mother of the late Casey (Deborah) Van Heuvelen, Hendrika Van Heuvelen (infant predeceased, Holland), Rikie (Phillip) Pearce of Coboconk, Edward (Gail) Van Heuvelen of Bowmanville, and Margie (Ted) Dezsenyi of Holland Landing. She was also the sister of Joke (Holland). Mary was much loved as a gramma to Fred, Maryanne, Sara, Stuart, Stephanie, and Brandon, and a great-grandmother to Lily, Kyle, Dylan, Adeline, and Austin.

Mary was extremely talented in cross-stitch and cut-work lace, winning awards at Fairs and the CNE. She loved going camping every year, with Bon Echo Provincial Park being her favorite. She had a great love of travel and committed over 30 years of volunteer work for the Association of Hospital Volunteers-Bowmanville, The Salvation Army, and Community Care. She had a deep love of family and a strong faith. Mary will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
