HIBBARD, David Nelson Hibbard

He was received into eternal peace on February 5, 2026 while being lovingly cared for at home by Al and MaryAnn. He leaves this world to “go home” and rest in God’s care. He is now reunited with a beloved wife, Paula Victoria (née Silver), parents Aubrey and Marie, sister Bonnie, brother-in-law Jack Dauphin, mother-in-law Maude Silver, Becky and Bob Jr plus all other dear family members and friends. Together, they are at peace. Family meant everything to Dave. He leaves behind a son, Paul Aubrey Robert, with whom he shared a bond of love and guidance. He is survived by brothers Al and Bob, with whom he created lifelong memories. Affectionately remembered by sisters-in-law; MaryAnn, Beth, Bonnie Mackelburg and Nancy Dauphin. Fondly missed by nieces and nephews; Shannan and Scott, Carrolleigh Cecile, Corey and Ryan Scott. Dear friends at Pine View apartments, Helen and Dan, IOL retirees will all feel the loss. Dave will be deeply missed for a lifelong devotion to the Church of Christ, where faith, fellowship, and service were an important part of life. While his absence is sorrowly felt, those who loved him find comfort in knowing he is at rest with the Lord and reunited with those who went before him. A celebration of David’s life will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages honoring his memory through a donation to ‘The Bridge Gathering’ for ‘Sarnia Blessings’ food program, acts of kindness, reflection, or service to others (cheques only at the funeral home please).
