With heavy hearts, the family of Marvin Howard Hill announces his peaceful passing on July 8, 2025, at the age of 92.

Born on September 28, 1932, Marve lived a long and meaningful life filled with quiet strength, deep love, and a steadfast commitment to his family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and lifelong partner, Peachie, whose presence remained with him always, and by his cherished eldest daughter, Suzanne, whose memory he held dear. Marve was also predeceased by his father Leonard Hill, mother Elizabeth Hill (née Bentham), and brother Bryan Hill.

Marvin will be lovingly remembered by his children: Michael Hill (Janice Gooding) of Mono Township, ON; Judie Hill (Adam Kurn) of Thorndale, ON; Kathi Hill (Philip Hobbs) of Corbeil, ON; and Scott Hill (Julie Hill, née Smart) of Owen Sound, ON, as well as his grandchildren, Mikayla Valiquette (née Hobbs) (Bronson Valiquette), Rachel Hobbs, Trevor Hobbs (Reese Hobbs née Braybrook), Megan Kurn, Reid Kurn, Keegan Hill, and Peyton Hill. Great-granddaughter Madison Valiquette.

Proud father and devoted family man, Marve found his greatest joy in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

Marve spent the vast portion of his work career educating students in the field of Mathematics at Earl Haig S.S. in North York, ON, from 1963 to 1988.

A few of Marve’s passionate interests included Motorcycles (Trials competition), creating wonderful stained-glass artwork, as well as the sport of Frisbee golf among many others.

Marve’s legacy is one of quiet wisdom, unwavering kindness, and an unshakeable sense of integrity. He touched many lives with his warmth and steady presence, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A private family gathering will be held to honour his memory, and in keeping with Marve’s wishes, a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, ON, in Marve’s honour.

Though he is no longer with us, Marve’s love and spirit live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

A tree will be planted in memory of Marvin in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
