HILTON, Mary Lou Hilton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Lou Hilton at the age of 89 years. Reunited with her husband Albert (2022) on their actual wedding anniversary. Cherished mother of Craig, David and Douglas (Enza). Adoring Nana of Courtney (Jacob) Banks, Victoria (Austin Jennings) and Olivia. Reunited in heaven with loving parents David and Mary (Mae) MacKenzie. She will be sadly missed by her grand-dogs Champ, Vinnie and Albert. She was very grateful for all the love and care that she was shown with the residents and staff of Kensington Court, where it always felt like home. Mary Lou graduated from Riverside High School and then completed her degree in Nursing at Grace Hospital in 1956. Mary Lou then travelled the world for 2 years working as a nurse in many countries. She ended her career with 20+ years of nursing with Ford Motor Company, and she built many friendships that carried on through her long retirement.

Mary Lou will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother to her family, her warm smile, her generous spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Whether she was offering a listening ear, preparing a favorite meal, or sharing words of wisdom, she touched countless lives with her kindness and authenticity. She was especially proud of her three grand-daughters and all of their accomplishments. She instilled the girls with strength, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose.

Mary Lou was a lifelong member of Riverside United Church, enjoyed participating in the church Bell Choir, and she cherished the weekly coffee time with her church friends. Mary Lou will be deeply missed by a wide circle of family and friends who will carry her memory forward. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
