HOCKNEY, Marion Hockney

After a long and unfair battle with dementia, another angel has been called home.

Marion Joyce Hockney (Anderson) was an amazing woman—a devoted wife, loving mom, proud gramma, and cherished great-gramma. Marion was married to the late Bob Hockney for 57 wonderful years before his passing in 2022.

Marion was very well known in the community. If she wasn’t speeding in her tow truck to help someone in need, she was rushing to the Courtice Fire Hall, where she proudly served as a volunteer firefighter. Marion also coached soccer at Zion Park and spent many years coaching ringette.

Marion loved her children deeply: Darrin (Marg), Robin (Rheo), and Brandi (Ed). While her children meant the world to her, her grandchildren were her greatest treasure: Shelby (Brad), Quin (Victoria), Mason (Carissa), Taylor (Josh), Casey, Colby, and Caden. Marion will also be lovingly remembered by 9 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Marion had an unconditional love for animals. Stray cats and dogs always seemed to find their way to her home—and they were never turned away.

She will be missed by many and forgotten by none.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
