HODGINS , Richard “Rick” Hodgins

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Richard “Rick” Hodgins announces his passing on July 23, 2025.

Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Kristine (née Peeters), and their five beloved children: Elijah, Nora, Raymond, Corina, and Clifford. He was the cherished son of Mike and Lena Hodgins (née Van der Kant) of Parkhill, and son-in-law of Kees and Agnes Peeters (née de Gouw), also of Parkhill.

He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law Brad & Jenn and Dan & Julie – both of Parkhill, and by his in-laws Dennis (Melisa) Peeters, Marco (Angela) Peeters both of Strathroy, and Cecile (Brian) Van Aert of Kerwood. Rick was the fun uncle to Hunter, Lochlan, Ben, Ryland and Everly; Parker and Meredith; Luka, Julian and Lauren; Olivia; Russell, Curtis, Kallie, Hudson, Graham and Reuben. He also leaves behind many extended family members, and dear friends including his best friend Hardeep.

A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished son, Rick was admired by all who knew him. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident in his career as an aviation engineer, and later, in the dream he and Kristine pursued together building a family farm and creating a legacy for future generations.

Rick was deeply loved and loved deeply in return. He spent his spare time with his family and could often be found in the shop, tinkering with the kids on his latest mechanical project.

Known for his quick wit, memorable one-liners, and infectious laugh, Rick will be remembered as someone who always went above and beyond for those he loved. He was the backbone of our families and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Legacy Recreation Centre in Thedford.
