HOEFNAGELS, Morris Hoefnagels

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Strathroy Middle General Hospital on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at the age of 89. Morris was born on March 15th, 1936, in Asten, North Brabant, the Netherlands, to the late John and Anna. In 1949, the family packed their dreams and courage and set sail for Canada to begin a new life.
He met the love of his life, Willie, and together they built a beautiful life over 65 years of marriage. They raised three wonderful daughters, Carolann (Mike), Marianne (Len), and Patricia (Paul), who will forever carry his love, guidance, and stubborn Dutch spirit in their hearts.

He was a cherished Opa of Christopher (Megan), Jamie-Lee, Bradley, Nicole (Curtis), David, Jamie (Brandie), Ben (Jenn), and Sam (Kris). Proud great-Opa of seven great-grandchildren. He’ll forever hold a special place in the heart of his great-grandson and best buddy, Logan, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond and a mutual love for Burger King. Morris was a hard-working man who always put his family first, remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for those around him. He brought laughter to every room, showed up for those he loved without hesitation, and always managed to keep life interesting – often in ways only he could. According to most of his grandchildren, he was also the best (and possibly most patient) driver’s ed teacher anyone could have asked for.

Dear brother of Gertie, Joe (Margaret), and sister-in-law Mary. Predeceased by siblings Leo, Tony (Katie), and Louise (Harry).
Brother-in-law of Aleida, Bert, Willy (Agnes), Corrie and Mary. Predeceased by Peter (Annie), Annie (John), Tonia (Peter), Kees (Marion), Josie (John), John (Lezora), Hank, Martin, Corrie, Andy and John.
Morris will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends in Canada and the Netherlands.
