HOEKSTRA, Antje Ann Hoekstra

Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Country Manor on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the age of 72.
Joan was the cherished mother of Navin Balram, (Lovie), of Guyana, and Radha Singh, (David), of Cambridge. She was also the adored grandmother of Rebekah (Johnny), Daniel, Melanie (Shafeek), and Christine. Her love extended to her great-granddaughter, Hailey, in whom she found immense delight. Dear sister of Bridget Bapniah, of Etobicoke. Joan will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A Christian by faith, Joan lived her life as a testament to her beliefs. She was a woman whose presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and her unwavering conviction in Jesus as our Lord and Savior was a message she wished for everyone to embrace. Her faith-filled nature was evident in her daily life and in the guidance, she provided to her family and friends.

Among Joan’s many interests, she had a particular fondness for watching game shows. “The Price is Right” held a special place in her heart, and she found joy and excitement in the thrill of the game.
