HOFSTETTER, Neil Reinhardt HOFSTETTER
August 23, 1948 - December 5, 2025
Born on August 23,1948 in Kitchener, Ontario, Neil was the beloved son of the late Brooks and Kathleen (Doering) Hofstetter.
Neil was the cherished and loving husband of Dolores Hofstetter, whom he married on September 1, 1973. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, partnership and family. He was the supportive and proud father of Dwayne Hofstetter and his wife Lori, and the devoted Little Poppa of Wyatt Hofstetter, who brought immense joy into his life.
He will be deeply missed by his sisters Margery Hay, and Denise Gingerich, and his Goddaughter Shannon Gingerich, along with his other nieces and nephews. Also, by his extended family including in-laws Ruth (Keith) Howard, Norman (Linda) Hofstetter and Joyce (Leigh) Young. As well as his many friends from the Tim’s coffee club and the Solo card players at the Legion and neighbours. Neil is now reunited with his sister Colleen (Bob) Bricker, and brothers-in-law Bruce Hay and Robert Gingerich.
Neil built a respected career in Real Estate in the New Hamburg area, earning a reputation for integrity, dedication, and professionalism. Neil was also a partner of a construction company with his brother-in-law Norman Hofstetter.
His commitment to community was unwavering. He served as a Past Executive Member of the New Hamburg Legion and was a past member of the New Hamburg Board of Trade, New Hamburg Parks Board and the New Hamburg Fair Board. He also generously volunteered his time with the Relief Sale, the Canada Day Celebrations and Mopar Fest.
Beyond his work and community service, Neil enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved fishing, playing cards, attending auction sales, and spending cherished time with family at Dwayne and Lori’s cottage, a place that brought him great peace and happiness.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
Neil touched the lives of many with his kindness, humour and unwavering strength. He will be remembered always and missed deeply by all who knew him.
