HOGAN, Minerva Hogan
May 16, 1927 - December 29, 2025
With great sadness, the family of Minerva Ester Hogan announces her peaceful passing on December 29, 2025 at the age of 98 years, joining the love of her life, Douglas Hogan (predeceased November 19, 2025).
Born in Larder Lake, Ontario, on May 16, 1927, Min was the daughter of the late William and Hilia (Ervast) Jakku.
Min met Doug in Larder Lake where they were both working. He winked at a beautiful blonde in the bowling alley and their adventure started, getting married and starting a family. They made their home in Sudbury for most of the rest of their lives.
Beloved wife for over 76 years to Douglas Hogan and cherished mother of three daughters, Vicki Hogan (Barry Lafrance), Sharon Hogan and Shelley (Binotto) Levesque (Denis), and three grandsons, Leigh Faubert (Angie), Barry Faubert (Michelle) and Jordan Binotto (Jenn Hebert). She was blessed with great-grandchildren Tianna Faubert (John Carlesso), Ethan and Amber Faubert, Nova and Chanel Faubert and Jolie Binotto, and four great-great-grandchildren Isabella, Franco, Crawford and Daria.
Min was predeceased by sons-in-law Peter Binotto and Wayne Rowlandson.
Since 1965, Min and Doug spent many happy years at the family camp at Kukagami Lake and made life-long friends with the same pioneer spirit. Mom enjoyed social and competitive curling, and golfing in her younger years and playing cards. Min and Doug enjoyed travelling, embracing new experiences along the way. For 29 years, Min and Doug wintered in Florida, where they made many good friends over the years. Mom loved her family deeply and she will be remembered for her kindness and steady strength. We will remember her as the steady heart of our family, whose love and encouragement shaped who we are today.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Pioneer Manor for their exceptional and loving care.
We love you, Mom.
As per Min’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
