It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leonard Holmberg on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, in his 69th year. Leonard grew up in Sudbury and maintained a close circle of friends throughout his life. Though he spent time in Alberta, Sudbury was always home, where he eventually settled in Lively.

Known for his unique personality and stubborn Dutch heritage, Leonard took great pride in his carpentry work, inherited from his Finnish father Bob. His meticulous work ethic ensured that any job he did would never need repair. Leonard also had an incredible knowledge of the human body and was a supportive friend to many through physical, mental health, and personal challenges.

Predeceased by parents Rita and Bob Holmberg, brother Dennis, niece Kira Lumme (Marsh), and nephew Curtis Holmberg. Survived by siblings Russell Holmberg (Paula), Ernie Holmberg (Glenys), Patsy Fournier (Alex), and Nancy Mazza (Rob).

As per Leonard’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury and Crystal Crematorium.
