It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Cindy Homes (Antle) on October 9, 2025.

Cindy was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland on January 11, 1969 to Sidney and Pauline (Boyd) Antle (predeceased). Cindy’s roots and family in Newfoundland never left her.

Also, predeceased by her sisters Marilyn Parsons, Rhoda Cole, and brothers Randolph and Howard. Survived by brothers Wylie, Dean and sister Corinna White.

Devoted spouse, John McEwen; loving mother of Jasmine Homes; partner Alex Ruckemann; and cherished grandson, Hunter. She will be missed.

Cindy met John at St. Joseph’s Church bingo. After playing hard to get, John finally said yes and for the next 16 years, they never looked back.

Along with her love for bingo, she loved her candy crush and lottery games. In spite of Cindy’s many challenges, her true passion in life was gardening.

John wished to add a few personal words,

“Cindy was such a loving soul—from the flowers she grew to the strength of her love for me. She always knew how to make you laugh when you most needed to. I will miss her so much—she was the other half of me…”

Visitation will be held at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home on Monday October 20th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Tuesday October 21st, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, with service to follow at St. Joseph’s church beginning at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to your charity of choice are welcomed.
