HOOPER , Gary John Hooper
November 25, 1943 - July 23, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary John Hooper, at the age of 81 years, on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 at 2:45am. Born on November 25th, 1943 in Windsor, Ontario. Retired from several years in Management at Chrysler Motor Company.
Gary was the son of Carl Hooper and Mary “Mamie” (nee Warren) Hooper and beloved brother of Carol Hooper and the late Edward “Eddie” Hooper. Gary was also a loving and devoted father to his two children, son Gary Hooper and daughter Stacey Hooper, who were the pride of his life, being actively involved all throughout their lives and all their extracurricular activities such as bowling, baseball, and other sporting events—always being their main spectator and cheerleader.
Gary himself was also a well-known bowler in the city and was known for being exceptional at cribbage, darts, and pool in his younger years. In recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his kids, playing cards, watching sports, and visiting his fur baby grandchildren.
It gives us comfort knowing that he will be reunited with his loving parents, late brother, and his special friends: Bradley, Charlie, and Kane; and his best friend Zeke. With being a huge animal lover, we are asking that any donations made go to a local animal organization such as Second Chance Animal Rescue or any of your choice in his name.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd East, Windsor, ON), Sunday, July 27th, 2025 from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Service and Prayers will be held at 10am, Monday, July 28th, 2025 prior to transfer to Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave, Windsor, ON). Life Celebration will be held at Riverside Sportsman Club (10835 Riverside Dr E, Windsor, ON) following the ceremony.
Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at Windsor Chapel.
