HORTON, Don Horton

Passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Sunday, December 21, 2025 in his 89th year.
Husband of Suzan (Cave) Horton for 61 years.
Father of Kim and Steve Niles of Stratford, and Cindy Cnockaert and Henry Kornelsen of Harriston.
Grandfather of Josh Schottlander and Tanisha Oakley, Raine Cnockaert and Brett Denny, Ashton Cnockaert, Alecsa and Justin Niles, and Calvin Niles and Abbie Gatschene.
Great-grandfather of River Rose Denny.
Remembered by his niece Janis and Bruce Sedran, and by his brother-in-law John Cave.
Don was predeceased by his parents Clayton and Margaret Horton, his sister Patricia Beauregard, and his nephew Don Williamson.
Don always carried a deep love for his work, no matter where life took him. From serving in the Navy, to being a police officer, later as head of security for Stelco, and even being a car salesman after retirement. What stood out most about Don, was that he left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of
knowing him. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down to his family.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #128, Mitchell, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
