HOWE, Deborah “Debby” Howe

A resident of Chatham, Deborah (Debby) Howe passed peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice at the age of 70.

Born on August 12, 1954, Debby was the daughter of the late Bert & Bertha (nee Bond) Weaver. She was the proud mother of Nicole Howe-Glover (Joe) & Matt Howe (Emily), and cherished grandmother of Nathan and Taylor Glover, and Kaitlyn, Megan, Lily, and Jack Howe.

Debby was the youngest child of a large farm-raised family in Ridgetown. Survived by her sister Wendy Weaver and brother Joe Weaver, and predeceased by siblings Bob, Betty, Grant, Gary, and Wayne. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Debby enjoyed travel, gardening, nature, music, Scrabble, and community engagement. Her long career spanned roles in the Ministry of Natural Resources, Sears, Kelly Services, and Service Canada. She retired in 2016.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Memorial Service will follow on Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m., with visiting beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery, Louisville.

In memory of Debby, donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Canadian Mental Health Association – Lambton-Kent.
