It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family patriarch, Gerd Dieter Huhle, on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at the age of 83. Gerd was an exceptional and beautiful man who epitomized kindness, understanding, and generosity. He will be dearly missed by his family and the many people whose lives he deeply touched.

Gerd was the beloved husband of Elly (nee Brandmaier) for 63 years. He was a loving and treasured father to Sandra Angelika Slessor (nee Huhle) and a devoted grandfather to Alexander James Slessor and Erik Connor Slessor (Maddy).

Gerd was a dedicated family man whose unconditional love for his family was evident throughout his life. He had a passion for sports, especially soccer and squash, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him, which led to his love of photography.

Born in Munich, Germany, Gerd was a renowned photographer, earning recognition in the German Museum. As a young man, he immigrated with his wife Elly to Toronto, Ontario, where he continued his photography and later opened a studio on Yonge Street. After retiring, he spent his days at his lake house on Lake Scugog, enjoying gardening and the beauty of nature.

Gerd rested at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
