ILES, Barry William Iles

Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital (WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd) at the age of 76. Loving father of Heather, Shayne (Bethany), Jamie (Emily) and Myriam (Aren Van Volkingburgh). Proud grandpa to Evan, Felicity, William, Michael, Caleb, Violet, Abigail, Judah, Charlotte and her sister due June 2026. Son of the late Muriel and William Iles. Predeceased by sister Gail, dear brother of Beverly Jean Bagley (John Graham) and fondly remembered by his niece Diana Bagley (Danny Byrne), his nephew Doug Bagley (Julia Beazley) and their families.

Barry was a man of simple faith in God. He faithfully attended the Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa for over 25 years and learned of the grace of Jesus through small group meetings with men that have become dear friends. More recently, Barry attended Guelph Bible Chapel when able with his family and has received much love and care from God’s people there.

Barry was a very proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren who brought him great joy, and he treasured every minute he was able to spend time with them. He had a lifelong passion for hockey, and rarely missed a chance to watch a game. Go Habs Go! He also enjoyed the quiet challenge of crossword puzzles and took pride in his coin collection, hobbies that reflected his patience and curiosity. He leaves behind a lifetime of moments that will be cherished by family and friends and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Barry’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener (519) 749-8467. Funeral Service at Guelph Bible Chapel, 216 Silvercreek Parkway South, on Friday March 13, 2026 at 10:30am. Reception to follow in the church hall. A private interment will take place following the reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to WRHN Foundation – Respirology or Guelph Bible Chapel would be appreciated.
