BAKER, Irvine Robert Baker Obituary

 

BAKER, Irvine Robert – (1946 – 2015) – Irvine Baker passed away suddenly at his residence on December 30th, 2015.

Irvine was born in Chatham and lived the majority of his life on the family farm in Raleigh Township.  He was the son of the late Ruby (Towl) and Charles Baker.

Irvine was an outstanding elementary school teacher specializing in music and taught for the Lambton-Kent District School Board at John N. Given, Indian Creek Road and Harwich Raleigh schools.  He was a life-long member of Wesley United Church and served as organist and choir director for over 25 years.

Irvine is survived by four brothers, George (Marilyn), Bryce (Betty Lou), Wayne (Shirley) and David (Susan), all of Chatham, and his two sisters Shirley Jensen of Waterloo, and Lorraine (Raymond) Dhaen of Chatham.  Survived by his sister-in-law Donna Baker.  Predeceased by his brother Gordon. 

He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.  He will fondly remembered by many neighbours and close friend Lawrence Fotheringham.

Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held in Dresden Cemetery.  Arrangements out of Chatham.
