William Richard Ivens

1931 – December 4, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of William Richard Ivens on December 4, 2024, at his home in Bolsover, Ontario, at the age of 93. William was predeceased by his beloved wife, Isobel.

William will be dearly missed by his children: Brian (Dawn) Ivens, Gary (Holly) Ivens, Debbie (Brad) Hunt, Randy (Sue) Ivens, and Mark (Tami) Ivens. He was a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill spent his life dedicated to his craft, beginning work in the family plumbing business at age 16 and eventually obtaining his Master Plumber’s License. Later, he joined the Peel Board of Education, where he worked from 1977 until his retirement in 1993. Bill had an extraordinary mind for mechanical engineering and could fix anything, often solving problems overnight.

A visitation will be held at Mangan Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the Beaverton Legion.
