JACKSON, Audrey Ethel Jackson

Passed peacefully at her residence in Oshawa after a long and fulfilling life.

Audrey was born in Toronto and grew up on Muriel Avenue with her sister Evelyn (Sabiston) and parents Ernie and Annie (Briggs) and spent many happy days at her grandfather’s farm on Briggs Avenue. Audrey attended Eastern Commerce and worked at Brooks Marble.

In 1943 Audrey met the love of her life, John “Scotty” Jackson. They were married in 1948 and moved to Wingham where they started a family. In 1958 Audrey and John moved to Scarborough and then to Campbellford in 1969 where they continued to raise their children and eventually enjoy a long retirement filled with travel and family time. Audrey moved to White Cliffe retirement residence in Courtice in 2023 and made many new friends there.

Along the way Audrey and John purchased a cottage on Eels Lake where Audrey managed to watch over crowds of children and grandchildren while perfecting her baking and knitting skills. Sometimes there was a chance to cheer on her beloved Blue Jays if the antenna was adjusted just right.

Audrey was a long-time member of the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for numerous other causes.

Audrey is predeceased by her husband John, her sons Bob (Felicia), Barry (Gloria) and her grandson Dale. She was also the loving mother of Nancy (Doug), Susan (Robbie) and Bill (Fiona). Audrey was a dedicated grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
