ENNS, Jacob – (August 23, 1917- November 11, 2015)

Peacefully at the United Mennonite Home Vineland, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015  in his 99th year.

Loving husband for 64 years of Susan Sawatsky (2005), father of Edward (Marianne), Herb (Pam), Janet (Bill 2012) Elliotson, Mary Lou (Ernie) Reid, Ron (Lynn), Fred (Yvonne), Sharon Davison, Shirley (Mark) Pequegnat, Hedy (John) Janzen and father-in-law of Edgar Rogalski and Jessie Hetherington.

Survived by sister Jessie Pettifer and sister in law Katie Enns. Proud grandfather and great- grandfather. Predeceased by daughter Carol (1999), his parents Cornelius and Katharine (Janzen) Enns, brothers Abraham, Neil, John, Herman, Peter, sisters Mary Kornelsen, Margaret Koop, Katie Hildebrand. Also a sister Katharine and brother Peter who died as young children in Ukraine.

Jacob was born in Blumenfeld, Ukraine. Jacob was a longtime member of the Vineland United Mennonite Church and will be remembered as a dedicated church choir conductor and for his love of singing.

The family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of the Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland, Ontario on Sunday, November 15 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at the Vineland United Mennonite Church, 11:00am,  Monday, November 16th. Interment at 9:30am to be at Vineland Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the United Mennonite Home or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family.
