JACOBS, Mary Ann Jacobs

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Jacobs, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the age of 64 years, following a long, brave journey with liver disease. Beloved wife of the late Shazad Noor. Loving mother of Ryan Jacobs (Sara Roundpoint). Cherished step-grandmother of Kent, Khloe and Karter. Treasured daughter of Rosemarie Jacobs. Dear sister of Louie Jacobs (Jean), Louise Jacobs (late Rick) and Joe Jacobs (Melanie). She will be greatly missed by her chosen daughter; Kelly Jacobs, her godchildren; Shae Terrance, Rosie Dinelle and Erin Mitchell, her grand puppy Buddy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and by her work family. She is predeceased by her father Joseph Jacobs.

A proud graduate of St. Lawrence College, she earned her associate degree and began her career serving her community with dedication and compassion. Her first position was with the Akwesasne Ambulance Service. She later joined the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Community Support Program, where she devoted 35 years of service, enriching countless lives through her hard work, kindness, and commitment to others. Throughout her life, she was deeply involved in her community, serving on several committees including the Akwesasne Review Committee, the Kanatakon Recreation Committee, and the Akwesasne Election Board. Her leadership and integrity left a lasting mark on each of these committees.

Outside of her professional and community work, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crocheting, sewing, baking, and especially spending time with her beloved grand dog, Buddy — taking him for walks and showering him with affection. She also cherished coordinating family gatherings, bringing loved ones together with warmth, laughter, and delicious home-cooked meals.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit, strong sense of community, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Mary Ann’s family warmly invites all family and friends to gather for a time of visitation and remembrance at Kateri Hall 597 NY-37, Akwesasne, NY, United States from 4 p.m. Friday, October 24th, 2025.
