BALLEDUX, Jan Hendrik Balledux

Jan died in the home he loved, as he wished, on February 9, 2024.

Jan was supported and comforted for the past two weeks by his spouse, Pauline; and her two daughters, Susan (Robert) and Elisabeth.

He was predeceased by his wife, Henny, in 1994; and his brothers, Nico and Albertus. He is survived by Pauline; his sister, Janny; brother, Lodewijk, and their families in the Netherlands.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Karel Stuut (Gaby) in Laval, PQ. Jan began his career with the airlines in his 20s with KLM, working in many countries.

He and Henny immigrated to Canada (Montreal) in 1953 and he joined TCA (now Air Canada), where he worked in avionics for 30 years until retirement at 60 in 1983.

Jan and Henny then chose Oakville for their new home in Bronte, which he loved.

Much gratitude to Dr. Stern, his primary care physician for 40 years; Acclaim Health for easing his final health concerns, the wonderful PSWs and his special nurse, Maryanne.

All their care made it possible for him to remain in his home.

Jan will be cremated, and his ashes will be interred with Henny’s at Glen Oaks Cemetery.  A private ceremony will take place.
