Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 86.

Loving husband to Barbara, cherished father of Alan, and proud grandfather to Alexandria, whom he adored.

John was born in Tudersdorf, Austria, the youngest of seven children. Raised in a close-knit farming community, he attended trade school to become a welder. In pursuit of new opportunities, John immigrated to Canada, where he worked in his trade until a back injury led him to seek a new path.

He went on to serve as a porter at the University of Toronto, where he worked until his retirement. Known for his quiet strength and devotion to family, John also had a passion for gardening and found immense joy in time spent with his granddaughter.

Visitation will be held at McEachnie Funeral Home (28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax) on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church.
