JARDINE, Goldie Marie Jardine

JARDINE, Goldie Marie Jardine
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Goldie Jardine, who passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, surrounded by the love of her family.

Goldie was born on September 17, 1953, in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, to John and Genevieve Jessome. During her childhood, the family moved to London, Ontario, where her beloved sister Gardell Wilson was born. They later lived in St. Catharines before eventually settling in Kitchener, the city Goldie would call home for most of her life. It was there that she built lifelong friendships with many of the same friends who remained close to her throughout the years.
Goldie shared an extraordinary bond with her sister Gardell, who was not only her sister but her very best friend. Together they shared the many moments that make up a life – joys, challenges, laughter, and countless memories.
Goldie worked at Unitron Industries in Kitchener from 1972 until 2008, where she served as a Quality Assurance Supervisor and spent more than three decades as a valued colleague and respected member of the team.
Goldie was a devoted mother to her three daughters from her first marriage: Candi Samuelson, Nicole Tailby (Samuelson), and Kristi Samuelson. Later in life she found the love of her life in her husband Brendan Jardine, and lovingly welcomed his children, Nicole Fitzgerald (Jardine) and Corey Jardine, into her heart and family.
She cherished her sons-in-law Jeff Tailby, Bryan Fitzgerald, and Anesti Tsiourantanis, and her daughter-in-law Anna Cohen, loving them as though they were her own children.
Goldie was the heart of a small but incredibly close-knit family. Her happiest moments were spent bringing everyone together – hosting birthdays, fish fry’s, family dinners, and especially Christmas gatherings where family and friends would fill her home with laughter. One of her final wishes was that the family continue her tradition of gathering together every couple of months, something that meant so much to her.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Mason and Autumn Tailby, Levi and Asa Samuelson, and Addison, Brinley, and Caelen Fitzgerald.
Goldie was also a beloved aunt to Penny Wilson and her husband Chris Bunt, and Jarret Wilson and his wife Sherry, and she adored their children Jacob and Sam Bunt, and Charlie and Travis Wilson.
Goldie had a passion for cooking and was always searching for new recipes to share with family and friends. She loved music, dancing, and travelling – especially to warm sunny destinations down south, to Alberta to visit Corey, and back to the East Coast, where she and Brendan held such deep roots.
Those who knew Goldie knew her enormous heart. She was the calm in the storm – the one people called when they needed comfort, a cup of tea, a glass of red wine, or simply someone who would listen. Many grandchildren also remember the occasional “sick day” spent at Nanny’s house, which may have had more to do with enjoying time with her than actually being sick.
In the end, Goldie did what she always did best: she brought everyone together, reminding us how deeply we are loved and how important family truly is.
After a life spent caring for others, her giant heart of gold was finally ready for rest.
The family will hold a private interment. Friends and family are warmly invited to celebrate Goldie’s beautiful life at Edelweiss Tavern in Kitchener on Friday, March 13, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. Family memories will be shared beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the incredible ICU-CCU nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the compassionate care they provided over the past week, and to Dr. Rinne, who cared for Goldie’s heart for more than twenty years.
Goldie will be deeply missed, but her love will continue to bring us together – just as she always did.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the WRHN Foundation – Cardiac Care would be appreciated by the family. Donations may be made at the funeral home or online directly through the charity’s website. Please call the funeral home 519-749-8467 to inform the family of your online donation.
