BATES, Joan Elise (nee Cummins) – (January 8, 1923 – December 6, 2015)

Daughter of Ronalie and Col. J F Cummins, sister to Ronalie and John, beloved wife of George Derek Bates (all deceased).

She is loved and sadly missed by her daughters Ronalie and Julie Bates, her grandchildren Steven Brombach (Elise), Kirsten Robinson (Kirk), and great-grandchildren Julien, Cole and Charlie.

Longtime resident of Sunnyside Ave, known for morning glories covering her porch, a well-tended garden, eclectic yard sales and love of her neighbourhood.

A talented, creative, thoughtful woman of quiet grace who touched the lives of all she met.

A memorial tree planting will be held in the spring.
