ZYS, Joan (nee DUDA)  – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Catherin Zys nee Duda, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Newmarket.

Wife to the late Joseph Theodore (Ted) Zys.

Daughter of the late Catherine and Joseph Duda. Loving sister to Don Duda (Elaine), Wallace Duda (Judy Deceased) and Carol Duda (deceased). Deeply loved mother to Elizabeth Zys, Carol Ferguson (Bob), and the late Mary Zys.

Cherished Nana of grandsons Joey, Billy, and Jon Ferguson.

We would like to thank all the staff at Kingsway for providing a supportive, engaging second home.

A special thanks to PSW Wanda. Much gratitude and appreciation to the MACU STAFF of Southlake Hospital who facilitated her very peaceful passing.

The family will receive guests at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill) on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Light refreshments to follow.
