STOCK, John Andrews Stock – Obituary

STOCK, John Andrews –   Aged 95, born on June 10, 1920, in Ottawa, Ontario, son of Thomas John Stock and Edith Andrews, brother of Bill, Kay and the late Gertrude, Joan, Mary and Teresa, died peacefully at home in Mississauga, Ontario, on Friday, October 2, 2015.

Jack was a Veteran of World War II in Europe and North Africa as a Spitfire Pilot in RCAF 411 Squadron and the RAF “All Canadian” 242 Squadron.

After the war he graduated from McGill University as a Chemical Engineer and made his career in Montreal and Toronto at Continental Can Company in Quality Control and R&D. Beloved husband of the late Betty Nance Kirkwood (nee Exworthy) of Plymouth, England, the war widow of his first cousin.

A loving father to Francis Thomas Kirkwood (Kirsten), the late Michael Stock, Susan Jane Stock Loblaw, Teresa Ann Stock and John Thomas Stock (Lin). Beloved grandfather of Ian and Lisa Loblaw and Madison Stock.

While living in Clarkson in Mississauga for more than fifty years he steadfastly maintained his allegiance to the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

Memorial Mass at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, 1171 Clarkson Rd., Mississauga, on Saturday, October 10th at 11 o’clock. Interment, Port Credit.
