BRAND, John Edward –   Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Revera Westside Nursing Home, Toronto, at the age of 87.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. Loving father of Beth and John. Common-law spouse of Joanne.

Predeceased by his siblings Ford, Tommy, Robert, Harold and Doris and is survived by his sisters Tish and Joan. John’s family would like to thank the staff at Revera Westside for their care.

John was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 286, Beaver Bible, the West Acres Seniors’ Choir, a volunteer at the Canadian Wartime Museum and a founding member of the Martingrove Baseball Association.

Family and friends will be received at the Newediuk Funeral Home, 2058 Kipling Ave. (north of Rexdale Blvd.), on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 286, 11 Irwin Rd., Toronto M9W 2P6, would be appreciated by the family.
