JOHNSON, Arlene Thora Johnson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arlene Thora Johnson (née Park) of Strathroy, Ontario—formerly of Ottawa and Winnipeg—on August 22, 2025, at the age of 81, following a courageous battle with cancer. Arlene passed away surrounded by love and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and devotion.

She will be deeply missed by her beloved daughter Jennifer, her adored son-in-law Graham—who she lovingly entrusted with the words, “look after my girl!”—and her cherished grandchildren Hunter and Em. Arlene also leaves behind her beloved sister Bonnie Twyford, brother-in-law Don, and nephew Daryl, as well as her dear cousins Jim, Barb, Ted, Dale, and Joanne.

Arlene dedicated many years to public service, first with the Federal Government and later with the Ottawa School Board, where she worked until her retirement. She then moved to Strathroy to be closer to her sister, embracing a new chapter filled with family and community.

A celebration of Arlene’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Denning’s Funeral Home in Strathroy. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.

An interment of cremated remains will take place at Friends of Elmwood Cemetery Inc at 88 Hespler Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 11am.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Seasons Retirement Community and Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
