JOHNSON , Eric Johnson

Passed away peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 89.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Lois Johnson (née Hawke), his lifelong partner in love, travel, and adventure. Devoted father to Doug (Sherry), Wendy (Kal), and Barb (Glen), and predeceased by his dear son Tom. He was a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to Vanessa (Francois), Kory (Chantelle), Stacey, Daikan, Gregor, Jordan (Julia), Louis, Victoria, Elisabeth, and Oliver.

Dearly loved by siblings Andy (Carol), Ruth, and predeceased by his brother Peter (Jean), Carl (Marion), Edie (Billy – late), Elizabeth (Richard), Beryl, and MaryAnn (Rick – late), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eric spent his entire professional career at Kraft Foods, where he was recognized for his dedication and exceptional work ethic. In retirement, he and Lois enjoyed traveling far and wide, embracing new experiences together while always staying rooted in their love for family.

He was known for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and deep love of card games—especially bridge—where his competitive streak was matched only by his sense of fun. He found great joy in skiing, gardening, and woodworking, building both beautiful furniture and lifelong memories.

Above all, Eric was a man of character, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Special thanks to the staff at Cornwall Community Hospital and Sunset Cove for their extra special care of Eric.

As per Eric’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at Trinity United Church in Ingleside on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11 am with a small reception/tea to follow at the Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church would be appreciated.
