It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nancy Elizabeth Johnson, who passed away on August 9, 2025, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, at the age of 64.
Born on February 21, 1961, Nancy lived a life filled with compassion, joy, and deep connections to both people and animals. She was a beloved daughter to her mother Ann and held cherished memories of her late father, Robert (Bob). She shared close bonds with her brothers Steve (Joanne) and Mike (Kelly), and was a proud aunt to her nephews Alex (Lisa) and Ryan. She is also survived by her Uncle Jim (Marion), Aunt Kathie (Dino), and many cousins and extended family members.
Nancy’s love for animals was a defining part of her life. She welcomed many cats into her home over the years and found joy in spending time with dogs as well. She volunteered at the SPCA, offering time and care to animals in need. A devoted fan of John Denver, she found comfort and inspiration in his music, and enjoyed sports—particularly football and golf—as well as travelling with family.
A woman of faith, Nancy was an active member of Cheyne Presbyterian Church in Stoney Creek, where she attended services and participated in Bible study groups. She cherished the support and friendship of her fellow parishioners, especially Debbie, and also received special encouragement from Diana Warren Lang.
In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to your local SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
