JOHNSTON, Leslie Williams Johnston

Passed away peacefully at the age of 75. Beloved husband to Annie, the love of her life. Proud father to Jamie, Ryan (Jenn), Calvin “C.J,” and Breanne. Loving grandpa to Alexis, Michael, Pearce, Gabriel, Finley, and Lincoln. Dear brother to siblings; the late David (late Kirsten), Jim (Sharon), the late John (late Sue), Ellen (Paul), and Ron. Brother in law to Carolyn, Gerry, and Dwayne. He is predeceased by his parents Andrew Johnston and Sarah Nee Williams. Leslie will be missed deeply by his many nieces, nephews and good friends Dennis Miles, Paul Boyce, Chris Clark, Bill Stolarski and Leigh CoMartin.

“Les,” as he was known, worked as a porter, beginning at Windsor Western and retiring from Windsor Regional Hospital – Met Campus. As a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, Les enjoyed cheering on the team every season. He was a lover of music, listening to Elvis and many other artists of that time. He was well known by just about everyone for his spot-on Elvis impression, lifting one side of his mouth and saying the famous phrase “Thank you, thank you very much.” His true passion was fastball; achieving an MVP award, accumulating 92 pitching wins over his years of playing. Les loved his many pets that he had throughout the years, the most current being his dog Josi.

As per Leslie’s wishes a private family service has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made to theΒ Windsor Regional Hospital – Cancer CentreΒ or theΒ Windsor Essex Community Health Centre – Diabetes Wellness.
