GUILD, Josephine “Jo” Guild

GUILD, Josephine “Jo” (nee MARCHESSAULT)  –  Josephine, on June 12, 2023, in her 86th year, passed away very peacefully, surrounded by family at Credit Valley Health Centre.

Lifelong, devoted wife to Jerry for 61 years; and the loving and beloved mother to Jim (Diana), Chris (LouAnn) and Susan (Liam).

“Jojo” was a cherished grandmother to Tom, Maddie, Amy, Kevin, John, Katie, Molly and Patrick.

Jo is survived by her brother, Francis Marchessault; and her twin sister, Gigi Marchessault, both of Montreal. Born in Granby, Quebec, in 1937, she graduated from the nursing program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal and embarked on her nursing career, which included meeting and treating a special patient for appendicitis and continuing to love him for 61 years.

Her nursing career was put on hold to raise their three children, and she later returned to it at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto. Jo will be forever missed by family and friends from her career in nursing, and her interests in bowling, golf, bridge, mahjong and baseball, among many others.

Thanks to the compassionate staff at Credit Valley for making her comfortable while there.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2480 Thorn Lodge Drive, Mississauga, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
