COUTTS, Julia Coutts
COUTTS, Julia – It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Julia Coutts at Cogir in Don Mills on February 20, 2024, at the age of 98.
Julia was born in the City of Toronto December 22, 1925.
She fondly remembers sleeping in the park with her sisters on warm summer evenings across from the family restaurant her father ran on Queen St. W.
Raised in a Macedonian household, she married the only man she ever dated, Parkdale raised Gordon Coutts.
After graduating from University of Toronto, Julia worked as a physiotherapist before starting their family in 1951.
They took their young family to Don Mills in 1954, the newly planned community north of the City, where she remained for the rest of her life. Julia will be missed by her children, Barb, Gord (Geraldine) and Liz (Eric); her sister, Ethel and her brother, Paul (Michele).
Also by her grandchildren, Derek (Andrea), Katie, David (Clare), Jennifer, John (Dunja) and Stephen (Claude).
And her great-grandchildren, Aidan, Maeve, Ronan and Hailey, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon (2010); sisters, Nancy and Isabel.
Thank you to the staff at Cogir Don Mills for taking care of Julia these last 10 months.
