BUTLER, June Rebecca – Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia, on Saturday, December 26, 2015, June Rebecca Butler in her 95th year.

Beloved wife of 30 years of the late Ross Harry (Tib) Butler (1977).

Daughter of the late John Graham and Vera Lucas. Loving mother of son Dana and his wife Nancy. Dear grandmother of Genevieve (Jeff) and Philip (Connie) and great-grandmother of Amber (Karl), Gavin, Danya and Cal. She was predeceased by brothers Duncan and Ross, and son Mark.

June was born in Ekfrid Township in 1921 and spent much of her youth in the small village of Middlemiss, ON. She moved to Michigan eventually graduating from Walled Lake High School. She returned to Ontario and, after completing nurses’ training at Strathroy General Hospital, she worked as an RN at Sick Children’s Hospital, Victoria Hospital (London) and finished her career at Strathroy General.

She was active in the Veritas Chapter #128 of Order of the Eastern Star (Strathroy). June spent her retirement years with her many friends playing bingo and caring for her special birds, Charlie and Joey. She will always be remembered as a compassionate and caring person who loved giving gifts to others.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers on Ontario Lane at Vision who made her last years special and to Dr. Gannon for his years of care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. All are welcome to join in a celebration of June’s life at SMITH FAMILY CENTRE, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society or Red Cross of Canada (cheques only at the funeral home please).
