KELLY, Jason Kelly

With heavy hearts, the Kelly family announces the sudden passing of Jason Fraser Christenson Kelly of Addison, Ontario, on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 51.

Jason was the cherished son of Carole (late) and Roger Kelly, stepson to Naty Kelly, and the beloved brother of Simon Kelly (Kerry Bedard), Lianne Backstrom (David), Ryan Kelly (late), and Steve Kelly (Jenna). Affectionately known as “Uncle Jay”, he will be deeply missed by the many younger members of the family whose lives he helped shape — Lucy Diaz Veloz (Irvin), Alesa, Sara, Ryan, Julia, and Rachel Backstrom; Arianna, Shyla, Tyson, Leanora, and Lena Kelly; Melanie Kilby (late), Matt, Ella, and Logan Kilby. Jay will also be fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Jay had a very close group of friends for 40 years of his life, who were more like a second family to him. He will be greatly missed by his dearest friends, including Ryan Forsberg (Melanie), Craig Anderson, Jordan Menzies, Holly Ray, Tim Harold, Jen Czaban, Adam Seddon (Nathalie), Eric Summers, Owen Summers, Karin Nortsrom, Sara Jackson, and the entire Forsberg family, as well as many more.

Jay was born in Tittensor, Staffordshire, England, on June 15th 1974, and moved with his family to Canada a year later. Jay was drawn to art at an early age. He enjoyed drawing, painting, sculpting, engraving, tattooing, and computer art. He won a few awards for his art throughout his life, and some of his artwork is on display in the Museum of Computer Art. Jay never married or had children of his own, but he was adored by his nieces and nephews, and even their friends. Jay loved to teach them to draw, to paint, and to appreciate the beauty of nature. Jay also loved travel, adventure, and exploring the world around him with his closest friends, and also by himself. His creativity, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Jay courageously battled with mental health problems for many years, and while we ache from the loss of his bright light, we are relieved that his suffering is over.

May his memory be a reminder that even in our darkest hours, hope endures, and those who suffer are never alone—reach out, and let others walk beside you.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior. Ontario
