In Loving Memory

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Anne Kemp, who left us peacefully on March 17, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. She was 85 years old.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on November 23, 1939, to Marion and James Meffen, Anne’s journey took her to Coventry, England in 1947 before she and her adoring husband, Bob, made Canada their home in 1966. Together, they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Anne had a deep passion for flowers and botany which she turned into a lifelong career, including many years owning Anderson Flowers in Whitby. She had an incredible ability to bring beauty into the world, not just through her work but through the kindness and warmth she shared with everyone she met. She was an active member of her community and many social groups, always finding ways to connect with and support those around her.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Bob, and her son Ian (Karen). She was a cherished grandmother to Adam (Jessica), Samantha (Cody), Meghan, Tabatha (J-Arden), Heather (Drew), Caitlin, Lubin, Christopher, and Melissa, and a proud great-grandmother to Charlotte and Norah. She is also fondly remembered by her brother, David (Jacquie), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She now joins her beloved sons, Tim (Sue) and Andrew (Silvia), and her siblings, Tom (June) and Janette (Roy), along with many treasured family members who passed before her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and PSWs at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, particularly those in the Dialysis and Supportive Care Unit, for their exceptional dedication and compassion. Anne’s immediate family will gather for a private service on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Extended family and dear friends are warmly invited to join in a celebration of her life on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Whitby Branch (117 Byron Street S, Whitby, ON. L1N 4P5), coming together to share memories, love, and laughter in her honour.

Anne’s love, generosity, and bright spirit will live on in all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
