KENT, Nancy Lou Kent
A resident of Wallaceburg, formerly of Wyoming, Pike Bay, Burlington and Chatham, Nancy Lou Kent (nee Burnham) passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Friday, May 8, 2026 at the age of 87. A daughter of the late Thomas and Lena (nee Gardiner) Burnham, she is now lovingly reunited with Ronald Kent (2023), her husband of 58 wonderful years. Forever loved by her daughters, Barbara Einwechter (nee Kent) and Venetia Moor (nee Neely).
Proud Grandmother of Ron Einwechter, Brittany Leyte (Patrick), Shayna Mathieu-Moor (Rachel) and Hilary Ford (Andrew). Great-Grandmother of Hudson, Hendrick, Griffin and Callahan Mathieu-Moor;Β Thomas, Smyth and Landon Ford; and Pearl Leyte. Dear sister of Diane Boudreau (George) and sister-in-law of Marie Allardyce (nee Kent). Nancy retired from the TD Bank after many years of service in the accounting division.
Beyond her employment, Nancy was a remarkably talented and creative woman whoseΒ artistic gifts touched every part of her life.Β  She was an accomplished pianist who could effortlessly play many tunes by memory and faithfully volunteered each Tuesday to entertain residents of the senior home in which her parents resided.Β  Nan was also skilled in jewellery design; quilting, candle-wicking, crocheting and knitting; as well as floral arrangement and wreath craftsmanship – a truly multi-talented artisan in every sense.
Nancy greatly enjoyed travelling with Ron to Florida each year and also cherished their time at Evergreen Resort in Bruce County.Β  The retirement cottage in Pike Bay was especially dear to her, where she single-handedly landscaped the front property with gardens that reflected her creativity and love of nature.
With her convivial personality, Nancy loved to spend time with friends golfing and playing shuffleboard or winning at Bingo, euchre and dominoes.Β  Colouring, word searches and sudoku provided solitary pastimes and as an avid reader, she also enjoyed a good book.
A woman of deep faith, Nancy attended the United Church in Petrolia and lived her life guided by kindness, generosity and service to others.Β  She was always willing to help those around her and will be remembered for her warmth, compassion and the joy she brought to family, friends and her community.
May the stars carry your sadness away.
May flowers fill your heart with beauty.
May Hope forever wipe away your tears,
And above all, may silence make you strong.
As per Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.Β  A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
In memory of Nancy, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society.
