KIM, Suo Quan Tang

She passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2025, in Victoria, BC at the age of 88. Before her passing, Kim was visited by many close friends and family, under the care of dedicated staff at The Summit at Quadra Village.

Born on November 28, 1937 in Jiangmen, Guangdong, China, Kim immigrated to Canada in 1979. paving a path forward for her family and next generations to live and lead prosperous lives. Kim leaves behind her grieving family . Her son Solomon, daughter in-law Jan, and three grandchildren: Adriana, Melissa, and Kyle. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cindy.

Kim lived an independent, quiet, and fun-filled life. She loved surrounding herself with friends, laughs, and hobbies of which she had many including knitting, ping-pong, dancing, mahjong, and cooking for her family. Her unique ability to find both humour and compassion in life’s moments, and to understand others without judgement made her a trusted and cherished confidante. She loved living her life to the fullest and dedicated herself tirelessly as a mother, grandmother, friend, and member of her community. She will be remembered for living fearlessly and authentically, and for her gift of reminding others not to take life too seriously.

Her family would like to sincerely thank all the caretaking staff, nurses, and fellow residents at The Summit for the attentive care and companionship she received towards the end of her journey. She genuinely cherished her time at The Summit and all the relationships she built.

Kim’s Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, on Wednesday, January 14^th, at 10:00am. Her subsequent burial will be held at the adjacent Royal Oak Burial Park at 12:00pm, followed by a quiet Celebratory Dinner held at Golden City Restaurant, 721 Fisgard Street, Victoria, BC, at 5:00pm for any friends and family that are able to attend.
