KING , Norbert “Norb” Alfred King

Peacefully, with loved ones by his side, Norbert (Norb) Alfred King of Pain Court passed away at Windsor Regional Hospital MET Campus on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 76. Norb was born in Chatham in 1949 to the late Rita (Robert) and Ernest King.

Norb was the devoted husband of the late Yvonne King (Caron), with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, and the deeply loved father of Gabriel King (Leigh-Ann) and Aimée Claveau (Adam).

He was a cherished grandfather to Chanelle, Jacob, AJ, Jordan, Isla, and Noëlle, and a dear brother to Jeannine Nunes (Artur), Vivienne Labadie (the late Thomas), Vincent Roy (the late Barbara), Jean-Guy King (Aline), Phil King (Angelica) and Anita Dietrich (Robert). Also predeceased by brothers Jacques (Jake) King (Sue), Dave King, Marc King (the late Mary-Ellen), and Luc King (Laurie). He will be fondly remembered by his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A proud 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Norb lived his values through service and generosity to others. Norb enjoyed his career as an experienced long-haul truck driver who didn’t need a map. He was equally admired for his warmth and integrity off the road.

In the Pain Court/Grande Pointe/Chatham community, he was a beloved figure, hosting annual Wildlife suppers to raise funds for those in need. His love for family knew no bounds, extending across Canada and into the US, where countless relatives and friends cherished his presence. Whether gathered around a kitchen table or at one of the local Euchre tournaments, he brought people together with laughter, spirit, and good barbecued food.

Visitation will take place at Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S., Chatham, on Wednesday, August 20th, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM. Funeral mass for both Norb King and his late wife Yvonne King will be held at Église de l’Immaculée Conception et St-Philippe, 24156 Winter Line Rd, Pain Court, on Thursday, August 21st at 10:00 AM.

In remembrance of Norb, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
