Edith Kingston passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, aged 103. Beloved wife of the late George Kingston, to whom she was married for 59 years. Edith was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Maude Godfrey, her sister Louisa Henderson (2023), and sister-in-law Wanda Sinkey (2022). She will be deeply missed by her goddaughter Janet and Karen Kuch, Nancy and Jim MacMaster, nieces Patricia and Debbie, nephew Kevin, friends, and her St. Andrew’s Church family.

Born in Bradford, England, Edith had a joyful childhood and served in the infantry (pay corps) during World War II, where she met her husband, George, a Canadian Air Force Navigator. She immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Throughout her life, she worked as a secretary/receptionist for AVRO and Labatt’s Brewing Co. Edith lived in various places, including Toronto, Malton, Wilmot Creek, and Season’s Retirement Home.

A memorial visitation is scheduled at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations can be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or Marigold Hospice.
