KIRK, Lynda Iona Kirk

My beautiful sister passed away on January 7, 2026 at 1:30 PM. If you felt a gentle nudge around that time, or the flashing of your lights, it may have been Lynda saying hello and goodbye for the last time. Lynda was a beautiful sister to me, a bright light and a wonderful friend to the world. She was a wife, an aunt and a great aunt and she looked after all of us. She was thoughtful and loving. She believed in angels and she loved cats and all her friends. As I look around her condominium, I can see the love that she put into everything, the clothes she wore, the products she used, her decorations, her Knick knacks and artwork, the gifts she gave to her friends, all of it radiating her love of life. She was kind and gentle and fun. She had class and was also tough as nails and, most of all, grateful for what she had. She did crossword puzzles right to the very end. She was organized and meticulous, yet, she was ready to party at any given moment. She was silly, but she was serious and seriously brave. As I watched in the last month of her life, friend after a friend would phone her or visit to say their goodbyes. She saw them all with grace and love and I was amazed at how this lady was so much more than just my sister. She brought light into this world and gave us another reason to be grateful. Like all of her friends and family, I love her very much and I will miss her terribly. As we talked and laughed in her final days, she made me promise to tell everyone these parting words:

β€œLife’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally used up, shouting, MAN WHAT A RIDE!”

Farewell, Big Sis. May you become our Angel. I love you.
