It is with full hearts that we share the passing of our dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Rebecca Kirkpatrick (Proulx), who at 96 years old is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Betty’s life gifted us a legacy built on faith, love, and family. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy, and her devotion to those she loved will forever guide our hearts.

Betty was the loving mother of Brien (Noreen) Proulx, Laura (late Michael) Ryan, Donna Vinette, Doug (Heather) Proulx, and Paulette (Walter) Guzzo. She was also the cherished grandmother to many, many grandchildren who adored her. Her zest for life, quick wit, homemade pies, and hand-knitted hats and mittens will be missed by all.

Betty loved her first husband, the late Leonard Proulx, the devoted father of their five children. Later in life, she was graced with a second love in her husband, the late Willis Kirkpatrick, whose presence brought her an even larger extended family to hold dear.

Betty was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Lavina Maxwell. Dear sister to Margarette Beilhartz, and the late Joe Maxwell, Retta Roy, and Fred Maxwell. Betty was also the treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She will be fondly remembered by Betty Boissineau, TiJean Vinette, and several parishioners of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Until her final days, Betty faithfully attended Mass and recited the Rosary, a true reflection of her steadfast devotion.

A Mass in her honour will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on Friday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m., with Father Michael Omojola officiating. Family, friends, and parishioners are welcome to attend a gathering in the church basement before Mass, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for fellowship.

Those wishing to honor her memory may make donations to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church or St. Vincent Place. Payable by cheque.
