ASADA, Kiyomi Asada
ASADA, Kiyomi – Kiyomi was born on October 6, 1929 in Aldergrove, BC, and died peacefully, on October 12, 2023 in North York, ON, with her two daughters by her side.
Kiyomi was the youngest of three children born to Senji and Matsuyo Eto.
Predeceased by her husband, Mitsuru Asada (1989); and her first husband, William Power (1966).
Also predeceased by her son, Lawrence Wayne (1992).
Survived by her daughters, Dale Power-Jenkins and Denise Power (Paul); and grandchildren, Mae-Ling Power (Dave), Kiyomi Swartzman (Navid), Will Power-Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, and Kevin Swartzman; as well as great-grandchildren, Kian and Kaiya Rahimi-Ashtiani. Kiyomi led a full but very challenging life.
Despite this she always forged ahead with much grace and dignity. Kiyomi was an avid gardener, reader, bowler, and golfer. Her strength, good nature, and inspiration will be greatly missed.
Friends and family will be received at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Buddhist Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Ogden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Toronto Buddhist Church, 1011 Sheppard Avenue West, North York, Ontario, would be appreciated.
