August 27, 1936 – February 24, 2025

With profound sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of Theresa Kodama
on February 24, 2025, at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga.

Beloved wife of the late Ted Kodama. Loving mother of Derek (Carolina) and Leanne (Grant).
Proud grandmother to Naomi and Alexandra. Dear sister of Patricia (late Allan) and George Shimono (Jenny).
Predeceased by sisters Clare Tsujimoto (late Mas), Tomie Shiozaki (late Kiyomi),
Hedy Iwata (late Fred), Misao Kawabata (late Ross), and Agnes Kanda (Ken).
Theresa also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Born in Steveston, B.C., Theresa was the sixth child in a family of eight siblings.
During WWII, she was interned with her family in Greenwood, B.C.
She later moved to Ontario, where she met and married Ted,
her husband of 59 years. Theresa worked at Bell Canada before devoting her life to her family,
supporting Ted in his businesses, and volunteering at her children’s school and sports events.

She cherished March Break trips to Florida, which later continued when Derek moved there.
With the arrival of her grandchildren, Naomi and Alex, Theresa’s life was filled with joy,
and she always took a keen interest in their schooling and sports.
She was also a passionate Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors fan,
never missing a game.

Visitation:
Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Toronto.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
