KOENIG, Barbara Darlene of Dorchester. In her 68th year, with her family by her side, at LHSC on Wednesday, June 4th. Cherished and beloved wife of Randy, mother of Shawna Rodgers (Gary) of Dorchester, Jamie Koenig of Burlington, and Jenna Vince (Derek) of Toronto.

Dearly loved Grammie of Abby Rodgers (Jacob), Margot Vince, Kyle (Monica) and Garret Rodgers (Marc), and sister Karen Zavitz of London. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Barb fought a 5-year battle with lung disease and received a double lung transplant in 2022. Her endless optimism and tenacity post-transplant was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was grateful for the care provided by the TGH lung transplant clinic and LHSC. A well-known face around Dorchester from her years at Foodland, Barb spent over 10 joyful winters as a snowbird in Lakeland, Florida.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #513, 1227 Donnybrook Drive, Dorchester on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment service will follow at Dorchester Union Cemetery Columbarium.
