KOPCOK, Ondrej “Andy” Kopcok
June 16, 1950 - July 29, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ondrej “Andy” Kopcok, a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Andy passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on July 29, 2025, at the age of 75. He lived life to the fullest, cherishing his wife of 52 years, Katarina (nee Pintier), and he will be forever treasured by his son Andy (Julia), daughter Katarina (Brad), and his late son Steven. He loved his grandchildren, Benjamin, Evan, Lilian and Gage, who adored their Apko.
Born in Petrovec, in the former Yugoslavia, as the youngest son of the late Pavel and Maria (nee Dir) Kopcok. He emigrated to Canada in 1971 with a dream of creating a better life. He is predeceased by siblings Maria Kralik (Djuro), John (Anna) and Sam. Loving brother to Pavel (Anna), sister-in-law Maria Kopcok, Ana Blata (Daniel), Zuzana Plahcinski (Mirko) and Katarina Kopcok-Zonjic. Family always came first. He was a fixture in his nieces and nephews’ lives, along with many cousins, friends and colleagues. He was adored by all who knew him.
Andy leaves a legacy, with the businesses he built together with his late brothers, Gulf Homes and Petrovec Investments. Taking great pride in his work, Andy built many custom homes throughout Es County, renowned for their quality and craftsmanship. Taking many young carpenters and tradesmen under his wing, sharing his expertise and love of the craft, he was a true inspiration. A man of faith and proud of his Slovak Heritage, he served as president of the Nativity Lutheran Church and previously as president of the Slovak Club Vojvodina of Windsor. He was an avid fisherman, and spending time together with the family at the cottage was his happy place. May he forever rest in peace.
