KROENING, Ingeborg Anna Kroening

Peacefully, with Dorothy and Hugh by her side, Ingeborg Anna (Modrow) Kroening, our much-loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed on December 27, 2025, at Age Care, Aylmer, in her 88th year. Ingeborg was formerly of Johnson Crescent, Simcoe. Ingeborg was born in Geesow, Germany, to Johannes and Hedwig (Ehlert) Modrow. Ingeborg is predeceased by her husband, Kurt Wilhelm Hermann Kroening, (January 14, 2025). Always a caring and loving mother to Dorothy Rouatt (Hugh MacKenzie), of Aylmer and Ralph Kroening (Susan) of Lindsay, Ontario and their children, Mark (his daughter, Claire) and Ryan.
Ingeborg and Kurt loved to travel; and, together, made several visits to Europe, travelling through numerous countries, enjoying their distinct histories, geography and the cultures in each. As well, they travelled throughout Canada and the United States, driving through all 10 provinces as well as each of the 50 mainland states. Yes, and they also travelled extensively throughout Mexico together. Likely as a result of their travels to Mexico, Ingeborg has, throughout the years held special memories of the music of « Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass! »
In keeping with Ingeborg’s express wishes, cremation has occurred and there will be neither a public visitation nor a funeral service. Friends, former neighbours, and relatives are invited to express personal condolences, share favourite memories and/or « plant a tree » in Ingeborg’s memory, through “www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com » or by contacting the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc., Langton (519-842-4238), who have been entrusted with all cremation arrangements.
