KUULA, Terry Kuula February 11, 1955 - July 24, 2025
KUULA, Terry Kuula

It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Terry Oscar Kuula, 70, of Zephyr ON. In true Terry fashion, he left the party with no fanfare or goodbye.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years (together for 50 years), Carol, his children Samantha, Kraig (Lisa), and Kyle (Carolyn) and his grandchildren Aubrey, Rebecca, Cecily, Oliver, Chloe, Kaiden and many dear friends.

He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor and gregarious, outgoing nature. Terry was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. He possessed a brilliant mind, witty charm, and an empathetic heart (to his grandchildren). He had a rare gift of building community wherever he found himself, most likely because he had a deep fryer in the back of his truck and was ready to feed people at a moments notice.

Terry was born in Garson, ON to Marie-Anne and Voitto Kuula (both predeceased), the youngest of 4 boys (Vic, Ronald, Kenneth), he grew up hunting and fishing in Northern Ontario, becoming a life-long passion that he passed on. He carried that passion to the Islington Sportsmen’s Club and the Durham Wolf Hunter’s Association and threw in some golf at Pheasant Run for good measure.

Terry graduated from Wilfred Laurier University in 1979 where he formed many life-long friendships. He went on to pursue a career in accounting, working first at Campbell-Sharp, followed by Memorex and then joining Southlake Regional Health Centre in 1986 where he eventually retired in 2014. Retirement did not last long (he was driving Carol nuts), and he joined InterHealth Canada where he stayed until he actually retired in 2021.

Terry and Carol began their life in Toronto, then moving to Stouffville and then their final homestead in Zephyr in 1986. Here they raised their family and were known for the epic pig roasts, and assortment of animals that always became pets.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation for Terry at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm or on Wednesday July 30, 2025 at 10am.
